Questions, answered.
The short version of everything people ask about JamCast. Each answer starts with the answer.
The sign
What is JamCast?
JamCast is an LED ticker sign for your wall, desk or bar. It connects to Wi-Fi and shows live NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL scores, stock and crypto prices, weather, clocks, countdowns and your own messages. You choose what it shows, in what order and at what times, from the JamCast web app at app.jamcast.io.
What can a JamCast sign show?
The library includes 132 apps covering sports scores, standings, player stats, soccer, fantasy leagues, racing, golf, stocks and crypto, weather, news, clocks, facts, custom messages and animations. Some apps require a connected account or an external data service. Availability depends on the service and your display software.
What sizes does JamCast come in?
Five sizes, all built from the same 64 by 32 LED panel, 32 cm wide: Mini (1 panel), Affinity (2 panels), Studio (3 panels), Pro (5 panels), Xtreme (8 panels). A one-panel sign shows one app at a time. Two panels or more join your apps into one continuous scrolling ticker.
How bright is it, and can I dim it at night?
Brightness is adjustable from the web app. You can set it for the whole sign, for a playlist, or for a schedule, so the same sign can run bright during the game and dim after midnight.
Is the 3D-printed cabinet available?
Not yet. A 3D-printed cabinet that screws straight onto the LED panels is in development. There is no release date, and we will not quote one until it is ready.
Setup and the app
How do I set up a JamCast sign?
Plug it in. The sign starts its own Wi-Fi network named JamCast- followed by four characters. Join it from your phone, pick your home network, enter its password, and the sign shows a claim code. Enter that code at https://app.jamcast.io/claim to add the sign to your account.
Does JamCast need Wi-Fi?
Yes. The sign gets its content over the internet, so it needs a Wi-Fi network with internet access.
How often do scores and prices update?
Each app has its own refresh interval. By default the stock ticker refreshes every 30 seconds, crypto prices every minute, current weather and alerts every 5 minutes, and game scores every 15 minutes.
Can I choose what shows at different times of day?
Yes. Build playlists of apps, set how long each app stays on screen, then schedule playlists by time of day, day of the week or a specific date. When schedules overlap, the one with the higher priority wins.
Can one account run more than one sign?
Yes. Every sign you claim appears in your dashboard with its own name, brightness, scroll speed and schedules, and signs can share playlists.
Does the sign get software updates?
Yes. Signs check for updates over the air once a day, and the sign keeps a backup of the previous version when it installs one.
